Hello readers,

I know we are all so devastated with the reality that is present in this state of ours… it is heart breaking to see the loss and even begin to imagine how to rebuild. But I will say the Oklahoma spirit is amazing… we are a phenomenal people, and when we need each other, people come out of the woodwork to help. It is truly inspiring… my thoughts and prayers are with each and every soul affected by this devastation.

Here is a link to help should you be moved to do so… RED CROSS

The Best of the Best again! Thank you Tulsa!! July 1, 2012

Thankful doesn’t even begin to cover how appreciative I am for being voted “The Best of the Best Aesthetician” for the third time! I am blessed beyond measure to have every patient that I have… You enrich my life more than most of you will ever know. My grandfather used to tell me, people don’t “enjoy” what they do for a living….. well, I do! I love the people I work with and believe deeply in what I do. Integrity is everything.

Thank you Tulsa!

The world from my view. Day 189 (July 8, 2011)

Literally, a cool idea!

Freeze cubes of aloe vera in an old ice tray…. perfect for the momentary lapse in judgement of not putting on your sunscreen! Also good for any burn…. such as chemical peels or curling iron burns.

The world from my view. Day 186 (July 5, 2011)

Happy summer everyone…. Can you believe this heat? I am seriously over it….

So I saw a patient today who has been using her Retin-A faithfully and using her sunscreen faithfully…. but is in her pool from morning until dusk almost everyday. Her hyperpigmentation (brown patches) are really starting to pop up. She doesn’t want to stop using Retin-A because she doesn’t want to go through the “peely” stage when she starts it back up in the fall.

I understand this but she really is taking a chance with it. We now have her on a Physical UV Block and an SPF 50….. plus a big hat!!!!

Please be cautious this summer and protect yourself as much as possible. Vitamin C (which I have blogged about before) is an excellent alternative. It has many of the same attributes as Retin-A without the higher risk of sun damage… if you’re going to be out and about!
