The world from my view. Day 15, 2012
Jan 15
Retreat time…. I have found myself too plugged in lately. Or not plugged in enough… depending on the view you look at it from. I find myself attached to my phone, computer, someone else’s issues, political BS, whatever keeps me out of the moment. SO, a dear friend of mine suggested I check out for a bit. And check out, I did! This mystical little spot is SHOCKINGLY close to Tulsa… a mere 25 minute drive away and you feel as though you are hundreds of miles away. It’s now called the Osage Forest of Peace… it was, not so long ago, a Benedictine Monestary, and has evolved into a sacred space that encompasses all religions and spiritual paths… they offer a multitude of levels of involvement on this 45 acre spot in the Osage forest… I chose the least of which, because my objective was, as we said, to check out!
So I went for a fabulous 24 hour period Friday afternoon until Saturday…. and loved every moment of it. So peaceful and calming… no phone, no computer, no one but me and the earth and all that I hold sacred. I hiked for two hours, stopping at these spots along the way to take it all in. It was a beautiful day on Friday and made for perfect hiking weather. I met a couple of furry friends on the journey who led me through the maze of trails and safely back to my one room cabin where I was able to sit in silence and quiet my mind… which if you know me… is a task! LOL
These are some of the shots I snapped along the way…. I knew I would want to share them with you. If you want info on this place… they can be found at www.forestofpeace.org or contact me and I will get you the info. A simple escape to yourself is easily obtained by just heading west from Tulsa…. well worth it!
